This is a lovely Stella story and you have successfully three dimensionalized the character. There had to have been a reason Ray had loved her for so long and you gave hints to that ... she is a human being, who at the time did not appreciate what she had, a mistake we all make sometimes in our lives.
In particular I like the little scene where she explained how once she used to get flowery words, now just chit chat with girlfriends, and being surrounded by legal briefs, it showed the loneliness of her life, and her regret in far more words.
I also like how believable you made it out to be, her falling in love with Ray Vecchio and how at the end you had the families together and you say:
Quote: to Benton Fraser, I owe my gratitude for helping make Ray Vecchio the man that he is, for standing beside him today at our wedding as his friend, and, most of all, for being the person I was not, for making Ray Kowalski complete.
