They are making you do this to benefit your recovery. I don't think they are doing to be spiteful or discriminatory although it may feel like it.
Each day you go to work and you have to blow into a breathlyzer that would put a wrath of fear for me never to drink again...they are making means necessary for you to guarentee your sobriety. It is hurtful and a blow to the ego but keep giving them 100 percent proof that you are sober.
Like Snider said before...you have a job. They did not x-list you if they did could you imagine all the interviews you would have to go on and explain your situation before even getting hired to another facilty? They are going out of their way to keep you because if they wanted to get rid of you by now they would have already. Just see this as it benefiting you more than it is benefiting them. Try to spin a positive twist on it. I know it is a direct hit to your pride but you know in your heart that you are a good nurse and have the record to prove it. Eventually they will cut back from doing the breathlyzers and if it is truly bothering you then seek legal counsel to see if there is discrimination but all that would do is add anxiety/financial stress to your platter.
Now if there are other nurses that you are aware of that have the same predicament as you then you may have a legitamate gripe.
