I was doing the same thing as your wife and the SBI was called to the hospital because of missing narcotics. I was arrested and lost my job and my nursing license for awhile. However I did go into treatment and started a much better life in recovery after this. Yor wife will probably not be able to stop on her own, even if she wants to. Narcotics are physically addicting and she will probably need help coming off them physically. She will definately need help emotionally in learning how to live without the medications. Your wife may not listen to you but if she continues someone else will intervene that she will have to listen to. It would be better if she asked for the help herself before the hospital or other authorities intervene. It may help for you to go to some Narcanon or Alanon meetings if there are some available to you. My prayers go up for you and your family. I hope your wife gets help soon.
