As others have said there are jobs out there, you just have to keep trying. I am in NC but I know nurses here have worked med/surg floors in the hospital and have gotten other nurses to give their narcotics for them. It takes honesty and perserverance. I did not want to go back to hopital nursing. I worked at a county health dept for a year (not as much money, but no meds)Nursing homes are usually needing nurses more and more willing to work with you plus they don't give as many narcotics. That's where I work now.The money is good, better than the health dept.It was not easy but I was open and honest with my prospective employers. I just started with "I am in a program with the BON, I have a probationary license", etc and explained what happened.Quite a few said "Don't call us we'll call you" and I never heard from them but I eventually did get jobs. Another option is a dialysis unit. They need RNs and there are no narcotics involved. The NC BON encourages us to work there. Good luck in whatever you decide. Keep practicing the principals of your recovery. Be honest, openminded and willing and trust your higher power and things will turn out the way they are meant to be.>Any help? I'm new here. My license was placed on Prob,
>also have narc restriction, I've been looking for a
>job in nursing. No one will hire me. any suggestions
>or should I look for new career? 14 years nursing
>exp.any suggestions? Thank you.
