I never stray too far from the sidewalk...

Halzay nodded. "I know. You'll have to forgive me, then, when I say I'm biased towards 'Laini." She trailed off slightly. Faranth, why had her friend made such a bad decision? Halzay couldn't quite understand it, really. However, as much as she was against Elaini's choice, she was not going to abandon a friend at her time of need.

Halzay gave a small, almost embarrassed smile as she saw the relief in S'peer's expression. Although it was semi directed at her, Halzay felt like she was treading on something sacred, something no one should see--especially not her. She bit her lip and nodded.

"I.. I guess you are her father, after all..." she trailed off. After saying whatever thoughts came to mind for her little speech, she had anti-climatically run out of things to say.

"Yeah, Salzay." Halzay said quitely. "I wanted to follow tradition..." her face turned a shade of crimson at S'peer's remark. Funny, how he could still make her feel like a little weyrling even as she was trying not to hate him. Halzay had always hated mixed feelings.

Elizabeth gave a small mental laugh--not ahumerous one, but relieved. {We're glad... Halzay and I. I guess it's just hard when the little hatchling comes into play.} Not that it wasn't hard in the first place, Elizabeth thought to herself.
