A most interesting post. Unfortunately, the multi-generational effects of abuse are way too common and not fully understood.
Please tell us more as you continue to learn.
It's undeniable that religious principles ennoble some; and the same principles are used to justify the most horrible abuses, societal and individual.
Is religion worth the price? I think not because the ennobling need not be religious, but religious justification for evil deeds provide evildoers with an extra reason to indulge their base instincts.
