Some of you may have read my posts under http://www.voy.com/242785/819.html , so I will not repeat that portion. In 2 days I have an appointment for my stepson Chris's first pediatric exam. My sister Toby feels I should bring my oldest daughter along for support, even if she does not go into the exam room with Chris. She also feels I should talk with the doctor to determine if I should be in the exam room with him since it is his first exam. Toby feels he will not properly relate the doctor's findings or be able to ask her appropriate questions as his exam proceeds.
My sister says that I am the boys stepmother and he needs to get used to me knowing all the intimate details of his developing mind and body. I think what she says makes since, I will talk with his new doctor to determine how she feels about me or anyone else being present during the boys examinations.
As always, thank you for your help.
