The ritual of the spanking is as important, if not more so, than the spanking itself. I can make it last half an hour or more, plus corner time afterwards. In many cases it's the knowledge that you're about to receive a spanking, especially if you're forced to be complicit in the build up (for example by having to fetch the hairbrush/slipper/paddle) that is so effective.
