Hi Mom. I know it is quite shocking, but I would not be that concerned. It does sound as she has a spanking fetish but that does not mean there are sexual aspects to it.

I know may adults who like being spanked. Some of them are sexually excited when being spanked and some are not. Most of these people I know are just normal, well adjusted folk, except for enjoying that kind of pain.

I have known a few spankees who are into self-mutilation too. This involves cutting and burning. To the best of my knowledge, these are people who had very unhappy childhoods and were abused. If this is not the case with your daughter, I would not be concerned.

As far as you continuing spanking her for discipline, I would recommend it unless you notice she gets sexually excited during a spanking. You spanking her gives her an outlet with her having to look for it elsewhere as she gets older. Spanking her harder could lead to bruises if you use a bathbrush or heavy hairbrush. Continue spanking with your hand, only longer, if it is effective. Or get a very thin paddle to increase the sting. As far as her spanking herself, I recommend you ignore it and act as if you have no idea. She is not going to harm herself by self-spanking.

Just thinking back to my feelings at the time when I started self spanking, I wish I had some sort of “no questions asked” policy where when I was feeling down, guilty, or just needed a reset, that I could get a spanking.

I was always too embarrassed to ask. I wish I had a system where I could have done something like set out the hairbrush in a certain place and that would be the signal to my mom that I need a spanking.

I would have wanted it to be something like 70% as bad as a real punishment. Still bare, still with the rush, enough to sting and cry and be cathartic. But not so much that I felt like I was “in trouble” and being punished.
