1. I prefer the bump option because that way I don't have to hunt for new posts. Without the bump option, commenting on any post past page 1 (or even toward the bottom of page 1) is basically useless because few will ever see it or respond. Bumping automatically highlights posts with new responses and shows which discussions are ongoing.

2. I don't have a strong color preference, but if I had to pick, I'd pick white.

3. The current name is certainly descriptive for now, when the board is new. I suppose we could call it "The Consistently Moderated Irish Dance Message Board", but that might be a bit cheeky. ;)
