Subject: Definition of model--Lost the bet?

It is always interesting to my as to why the CIs are all afraid to reveal their identity. Speaks volumes for the corporation, but this was a good post, and we appreciate the time you took to write the post.

First, as you are probably aware, if you are who I think you are, you know that I am knowledgeable about the training methods from the tapes we have been receiving. What you are describing is not what we, on this forum, refer to as "model" golf. Model golf is where you use somebody as your model, like Moe Norman, and you swing like Moe Norman.

Further, in this regard, my golf ball bet was that NG would not teach its students to bring the club behind their head so that the hands are behind the ears. They are still teaching to take the club straight back, at least from the tapes that I see, which promotes a pulling swing (ala Junge), and this, really, is not at the heart of the swing, even though the swing can be executed from this perspective.

Don't fall into the LIE of saying that Junge and Graves teach the same swing. This is EXACTLY the issue that we have been discussing on this website in that you are creating a corporate philosphy to try to make things manilla (your so-called model), and, in the process, you are telling a lie. The corporation has got to stop lying, and if you don't think they teach differently (fundamentally different mechanics) than you should look at their actual teaching tapes.

I started making these in-truth posts because I have seen some of the tapes being made from the instructors. It is good to have the four fundamentals, and some guidelines on the swing, but this is not "model" golf, by a long shot. Actually, this is the ONLY PATH you can go down right now, because you have locked yourself into this position (nothing wrong with that; a reality).

You see, the problem is that your teaching techniques is basically a puller's swing, and because you either don't understand or know the difference between the mechanics you deny the way this swing was developed because you want to make manilla the swing. As I stated in one of my earlier posts, this is NG's only option, at this point.

It is quite unfortunate, actually, because you will introduce a lot of people to the swing, but, because they won't be able to maximize the mechanics, most will leave, as they are currently doing. NG will teach this swing from a "description" of the mechanics. For example, they will tell the student that you initiate the downswing with the leading of the left knee, instead of explaining how this knee leads as a part of mechanics. NG has pursued a trail ( and continues to do so) of describing effects, and telling their students to duplicate those effects, instead of understanding the causal factors.

AGAIN, I say to you, and I say to the corporation, go to the outside and get yourself some SMART people that can integrate that corporation properly, without lying, to offer instruction, combined with the marketing of the golf clubs, in a manner that doesn't lie.

Your students don't swing properly. The students on your infomercials don't swing properly. Virtually, none of them are able to hold the angles, according to one of our pundits who analyzes such things, and the reason that they can't hold the angles is because you are not teaching the swing properly. Your instructors on the infomercials hold the angles, except for Jerry, so why don't the students. It's because you aren't teaching the right thing. You teach effects; not casue.
