As a first down swing move, absolutely, it's called a pullers stroke, and the left side pulls the right hand and arm straight!

Absolutely, you drop the right elbow and push the right hand at the ball like driving a nail with a hammer, or in the case of the Peter Croker swing, you release right from the very top throwing the clubhead at the ball, there is no pulling from the left side to start the downswing swing in either of those!
