I, too, was once a 10 or 12 hdcp. Then along came marriage, a family, and an extended time away from the game. When I resumed about four years ago, I couldn't believe how crappy I was playing. After struggling with injuries and scores in the 90s, I finally took the plunge last fall and purchased the LOBG video package. Believe me when I say that it will take TIME and WORK for anyone who's played CG before. I haved pounded thousands of balls, took a private lesson from a NGCI and have played a couple of dozen rounds. I am just now starting to see results......hitting the ball longer, straighter and finally starting to break through into the mid to upper 80s. But it has taken nine months here in the Midwest (where I couldn't even pick up a club for 3-4 months because of the weather and no indoor ranges). I have only now begun to think about equipment. I'm still playing with my 20-year-old Lynx Predators and a 2-year-old King Cobra driver. I would recommend buying the LOBG video, work at it, be PATIENT, and only after you've started to groove your swing, then begin thinking about equipment. Yes there's an advantage in playing equipment designed for SA golf, but the swing is still the thing. Just my opinion. Hope you give NG a try.
