I started with the article in Golf Digest; some of the drills in that article are very useful. The Golf Digest video, which I picked up next, has a section of about 10 drills which are very useful. For about two years, my swing and scores improved. Then I started hooking - a great pleasure at first from a very bad slicer!

But the hooking got really bad, so much so that I wished for my slice to return. So I took a one day NG school - most helpful and very reveiling. I worked on the drills, had a bad year last year, and now am seeing some real improvement. I go to a NGCI every so often because I can't see my swing, or what I am doing. This helps greatly. I have the LOBG and find it usefull to fire up the tapes from time to time. The audio tape on the mental side of golf is a real sleeper and an unexpected added bonus.

The only change I made to my standard equipment was to put on larger grips. That does make a difference because the club did not sit well in my right hand without the bulk of the larger grip.

The trick is to do the drills which permit you to eliminate all the motions of conventional golf - hip rotation, the new release into the ball. I used the wiffle balls in the local park and my small back yard as a practice area, using a wedge or 9 iron. My NGCI recommends the 7 iron after you get comfortable.

The good news is that it works - and the conversion comes more often sooner than you think. But there will be a period of confusion while you are inbetween swings.

Good luck.
