I'd add Stony Brook to the list and slide NU to the bottom of any list. Any of those 5 can win, believe it or not. I'm not knocking Hartford, they're just too inconsistent of late for me to think they have a legitimate chance. Heck, they played BU very close, but in the long run, I can't see them winning it.

I can't see NU winning because of a potential first round matchup with either Stony Brook or Maine, which present NU with big time matchup problems. If NU gets past the first round, I'll be a believer.

You can't see Hartford winning??? You are really clueless. They are as good as anyone maybe with the exception of BU.

The basketball junkies recognize that BU is the best team. Everyone is fighting for second. You don't have to be a Dick Vitale to figure that one out.

After all, NU was a foul shot miss away from losing to Albany. There is tremendous balance in this league from top to bottom.

I hope you go to the CAA so you stop posting your stupidity.

I think "clueless" is a little strong, Hawk. After all, you've lost four out of your last five, including by 9 against New Hampshire. Your team might look as good as any on paper, but they haven't played well at all as of late.

As for your chances in the tourney, I think your remaining four games will speak volumes. You've got three at home against some top teams (Vermont, Maine and SBU) and one away at Albany. If you can't manage to beat Albany and win at least two of your three home games, I'd have to say any doubts about your chances in the tourney are absolutely legit.

Stupidity??? Nothing like hearing a voice of reason from Hartford...

NU was a foul shot miss away from losing to Albany the game AFTER they lost their best post player (a game they beat your beloved Hawks in)....

I said Hartford was too inconsistent. Yeah, you ALMOST beat BU, but you lost to UNH, not just once, but TWICE. In my mind that's inconsistent.

I don't think NU can win it either, they're not a modicum of consistency at all.

To be fair to Hawk, Hartford didn't lose to New Hampshire twice. They split the season series, winning the first game at home by 4 and losing the second game away by 9 -- a fact which underscores another valid point regarding the chances of any team other than BU in the tourney, and that is that Hartford (like, Maine, SBU, and NU) plays poorly on the road. Vermont has been okay, but only Boston has played consistently well at home and on the road. Of course, with the tourney in Boston, that won't be a factor for BU's chances, but it speak to everyone else's chances of beating BU in Boston.

Hartford split the series with New Hampshire. And while I agree they are inconsistent, they played BU to a one point loss and an overtime loss and beat Vermont in convincing fashion on the road. If they find it, Hartford can beat anyone in this league.

It just appears everyone's favorite poster, Bearcat Barry, is having a little fun with us again.

If you ever hung around Hawk fans before, you know that there aren't hawk fans who display the emotion that Hawk did.As evidenced by the crowd at Hawk games ....we are relatively passive fans.Thanx for confirming this GCG.

I think BU is just riding this out. I think once tourney time comes around, on their home floor...they take this handily. THey are top to bottom the deepest and fastest team, w/ height. They also know that they can play w/ the big boys on a regular basis (NU has been back and forth). I dont forsee them having a problem in the tournament.

I do not think that you can count out any team in the league. Sure, statistics and records are definitely skewed in the direction of a few teams. But, as we have seen throughout the year any team can show up and beat any other team on any givem night. Afterall, isn't that why they call it "march madness"....

I don't have a Clue (NU Grad will jump all ove that statement)who will win the AE but it won't be Bing,UNH, UA or the regular season winner. BU is the best, most talented and deepest team but they have allowed too many teams to play them close and have lost to NU and SB.

The Terriers have won 10 games in Conf. - 6 of those wins came by 5,3,3,1,3,and 6 with 2 of the games in OT. Sooner or later the odds are going to bite them in the butt.

BU is good, but they have shown their vulnerability. They are definitely not the guaranteed winner of the AE tourney. At BEST, they will have home floor advantage and knock off their first opponent with ease. After that I think they will have their work cut out for them.

.... and they don't have Stihn Dhondt this year. But they do have a bye (apologies to Will) into the semifinals.

I think NU has the best chance of knocking off BU in the semifinals. In the other bracket, it's wide open. Vermont will be tough, but Brennan is already laying the groundwork for another flop, i.e., his "we've been overachieving all year, we knew this was going to happen" statement after blowout loss to NU last week.
