Giannini didn't play NU Zone???? I always thought that coaching against NU since the mid 1980s was the easiest thing in the world.. Play zone, let them beat you from the outside, and don't get killed on the boards.

Come on, you've got to be kidding me. A blind man could know that you zone NU until they start hitting threes, then you stay in the zone because they don't have the shooters to consistently hit them, and eventually they'll slow down.

Maine also got beat by NU on the boards, how did that happen?

Barea loves you too buhoops... watch an international basketball game and see where he gets it from. Remember, he's only played US basketball for about 2 years, and in the summers, he only plays international competition.

I'm not condoning what he did, but it seems its a form of gamesmanship that is getting to people.

Remember the first rule of Boston basketball:

When Larry Bird does it it's gamesmanship. Anybody else, it's trashtalking.

I'm guessing rebounding was fairly equal until Clayton Brown went out with fourth foul midway through second half. I think NU won rebounding battle 40-33. NU hit offensive boards pretty good and when Black Bears are in zone, they're not as good a rebounding team.

Black Bears went to zone five minutes into second half, I think. Beside an early 8-point lead by Maine and a 7-point lead by NU early in the second half, it was a very tight game.

Second half zone did seem to slow down the drives to the hoop some, but then NU really started hitting the boards.

There were two alley oop-dunks by Robinson in the second half, also, that caught UMaine front line (with Brown in foul trouble) flat footed. Those might not have worked against man-to-man.

Barea was special Sunday afternoon. Pure and simple. Sometimes, and I think this is a Risky Business reference, "You've just got to say, "`What the fu..'"

Is swearing allowed in AE?

Ah, that explains it. I hate the Celtics, I'm a Nets fan. Thanks for the clarification.

You forgot the Hockey East corollary... if it's hockey, than when Shawn Walsh (may he rest in peace) complains, it's bitching about the refs, if Jack Parker does it, there must be SOMETHING wrong with the officials.

Oh, that explains it. He's just one of those nasty international players like all those currently in the NBA and in various colleges. Funny, though, when I watch all those guys play I don't recall seeing them whining to the officials, taking cheap shots, being unsportsmanlike with opponents shooting fouls. And let's not forget, how about publicly crying about not getting voted ROY?

No, you can't excuse his punk behavior because he played international ball. In fact, I think it's much more likely he learned that crap playing high-school ball in Miami.
