I remember the incidents with Barea talking to the Maine players when they were on the free throw line, but I didn't see him touch anyone. Did I miss that?

Was that in first half with Maine shooting at NU end?

There are always many items that when you go back and replay a game you wish you could do again (see Rick Pitino vs. Duke/Grant Hill to Christian Laettner in East Rutherford). But what I remember most about the final moments was that it appeared that Maine doubled Barea off of the inevitable screen he was going to get, Barea backpedaled with the ball and launched the shot with two defenders on/near him.

I'd be interested to know if any kind of pressure up court was considered? All legitimate questions. But when all is said and done, Barea just went off like few have ever gone off in AE tourney history.

If he goes 5 for 20 or something like that vs. BU tonight, I'll scream.

Supposedly, Barea used his ROY snub as motivation in quarterfinals. Well, you stink JJ. You get away with a travel every time on that spin move and only one out of every three fouls is called on you. But congratulations, you're only a freshman and you have AE referees in you hip pocket.

I know you're probably sitting in your apartment reading this JJ Barea. So read and read good:

Jamar Wilson is the man. Jamar Wilson is the man. And you know it.

Now, let's see what you've got left for the encore.

>>BArea did have a great game. Still shot 26X! The AE people said the ROY voting was unanimous. Barea didn't even get one nod for ROY. Wilson did have his worst AE game of the year yesterday. Opong went down 2 minutes in to the game and Wilson had to play the point. He also looked tired. Probably because he's had to do it every night for Albany to even have a chance. Barea is good and that's where it ends. I expect him to lay an egg tonight! For NU fan's I hope he plays well. 12/26 is a great shooting night for BArea and still below 50%! Should be a heated game tonight!

I didn't think the voting could be unanimous since I didn't think you can't vote for your own kid (so unless Brown didn't vote for ROY, but then it's not unanimous)....but I may be splitting hairs.

You're telling me you BELIEVE what the AE folk say??

I said it earlier today, I'm thinking big time letdown tonight.

VL, love the sarcasm... I don't know if you saw the article in the Boston Globe this morning, but the lead of the article was something similar to what you wrote.

Just out of curiosity, how many point guards in the NCAA (or the NBA for that matter) shoot better than 50%? It seems that on this board a guard is scrutinized if they don't shoot 50%?? When did that become the magic number?

Whats wrong with shooting 12 for 26? I'd love it if he shot 12 for 26 every night.

I'm sure you would considering in Conference he shot in the high 30s in FG% and 27% from 3.

Not taking away from the big game he had, i am just answering your question. In no offense should the pt guard ever shoot 26 time...unless maybe, just maybe if the team you play is in a 3-2 zone with the middle defender sagging into the paint. But thats about it. 26 times is outrageous. But I will admit, he did look good...yesterday.
