Define "walking distance" A Bostonian's walking distance sometimes differs from others, but I don't think it's an easy walk from Coolidge Corner to BU.

CC is not in walking distance. As a matter of fact, outside T Anthony's or T's pub, nothing is in a really short walk from BU in this weather. However, CC is one of the best places you can eat (i used to live right around the corner from it). Great booze selection too!!! Its a short cab ride to WBA. Also, for those fans who like really good Mexican, the best buy in town is ANNA's Taqueria (about three blocks from CC but closer to Comm Ave and on Harvard Ave). The SUPER BURRITOS are 5 bucks and are as healthy and tasty as you get. Lines usually go out the door midweek. And the portion is HUGE! BU GUY is right. SUNSET GRILL IS FANTASTIC...cheap but good bar eats, also known for there booze. Across the street is the BIG CITY. Real good food and known for their pool, and I believe the largest selection of beer in boston (I think they have like 60+ taps...though I could be wrong). BTW, you guys picked a great hotel...nice little indoor pool in there!!!

The Holiday Inn in Brookline is a corporate Sponsor of NU Athletics.

I don't know what kind of rate you got there, but you might ask if they have a special rate for Northeastern or people associated with the school. Can't hurt to ask.

If you're staying there and want some good Sushi, you have two options, both on Beacon Street.

Ginza is excellent and Fugyaku is further up Beacon Street and was voted Best of Boston in 2002. Both are south of Coolidge Corner in Brookline.

There's also good Chinese at Golden Temple on Beacon in Brooklinke.

We actually got a room at the Holiday Inn-Brookline on priceline.com for $80. I think we could have got to the room for $60, but still not a bad deal.

Most likely, we will try the Sunset Grill on Brighton Ave. Saturday night (beer and good food make a great combo:)
