Roz, sorry I missed it ... backed off from making the trip up from southern Maine because of the freezing rain. Plus, conference tourney got the official Mrs. endorsement so that'll be a couple days in sunny Boston in a couple weeks. Sounds like Marcarchuk provided lots of entertainment.

Hope the seniors received a nice round of applause. I would have liked to seen Derrick Jackson one more time at home.

Please send along any other notes of interest from the game.

nice crowd for a crappy sunday. derrick jackson got a nice ovation(as did all three seniors) and i was pleased to see ricky white NOT announced as a senior. must mean he is coming back!!! allays some of my fears for next year.

ricky is all out hustle--on three consecutive plays, he intercepted the entry pass to his man by diving around him and knocking it away.....lead to two lay-ups and a three attempt by ricky.

kevin reed continues to develop...he's much more assured and confident out there. he's this close to being a leader on that team. he defends well, shoots well(as we all know), rebounds well, and now is taking the ball to basket now with more frequency and assurance. if they can get some size next year, with ricky, markwood, reed, and udo, well, that's a nice foursome.....

petkus continued to be a solid role player. he hit a three, drove to the hoop, rebounded well and defended. he's a nice solid player. he, not anyone else, has taken joe campbell's minutes.

now that justin isn't counted on to score, he looks so much more comfortable out there. i don't know if it's been a conscious decision or not, but they run very few plays for him, unlike earlier in the year. however, he blocks and gets defensive rebounds better than anyone in the conference, billings included.

the team has really rounded into shape from a chemistry perspective...the lowpoint was the BU loss at home. they've seemingly turned a corner since. i can't imagine this team's record if they hadn't had to wait 6 games to get all their players in due to suspensions and injury. maybe the chemistry would have been better sooner. nonetheless, they can win this thing.....

Thanks for the recap. I had heard that Rickey wasn't included with the seniors. Not sure if you know, but the final outcome on Rickey regaining that year won't be known until the end of the summer session. Let's hope he does it. You're right, with Rickey, Reed, Markwood, Udo, Dobson, Hill and Campbell, we've got a good core group coming back; all of whom know the league. Need a defender/rebounder/sometimes-scorer underneath. Flavin and Dubois sure will have an opportunity if they can crank it up a notch or three.
