Trey, I must restate my firm belief that Wilson, despite his numbers and obvious all-star caliber, CANNOT be Player of the Year (even if it were allowed). Any player who plays for a team that wins less than 20% of its conference games simply can't be awarded as the best in the conference. No offense to Wilson, but it would be a bizarre scene. He benefits from being the best player on a poor team - therefore he gets more FGA than other candidates (thereby padding stats). Put him on any other team in the league (except UNH!!) and his numbers are down. Don't get me wrong - he's outstanding, but unless he's averaging 30 a game, or is the next Reggie Lewis, he doesn't win it while Albany is miles from respectability.

I agree Wilson does not deserve POY but I do disagree with the statement about getting more FGA. Please be aware the strength of Wilson is his efficiency if he were a bomber I would agree with you but being he draws so much defensive attention ( Box & 1 and doubled very often) it's amazing he has shot 53% from the floor and gets very few easy looks.
Again I do realize and appreciate that you state he is a fine player. Hopefully he will be for Albany what Speedy Claxton was for Hofstra. I'm not saying he's as good as Speedy but I think he's as good as Speedy was as a Freshman and that is damn good.
