I have been there, giving warning swats and a spanking waring yet they would still end up needing to be spanked. Good for you, that would have been an instant spanking here as well.

I remember thinking when my boys were young that they would grow out of certain behaviors as they got older, this was not the case, what I found is they were, are still basically being spanked for the same things, Steven my 17 year old is still having tantrums, he doesn’t throw himself on the floor but he still has them when he can’t have his way with something or is still being spanked because of video game play. I still from time to time get defiance, disrespectful backtalk and sass from him, Aaron was spanked at 19 back in March for pushing my buttons and disrespecting me all are a spankable offenses here. Being disrespectful to any adult and they will find themselves over my lap.

For the most part I have always given one warning, I think we have to give a warning, to me its being fair, even as adults we get warnings. They are children, yes I referred to my 17 year old as a child and was referring to my nieces and nephews also, Aaron even when he was 18 would have childish behavior still.

But just as Mary does I do have "immediate spanking offenses” They are the same as with Mary.

When we give a warning we are giving them a chance to correct themselves. I am consistent with my warnings and with the offenses that get no warning, they all know my rules and where their boundaries are, but they will push on them.
