It looks like you boy had himself a little tantrum even at his age, my boy is a door slammer and has found himself over my lap for door it when done like that in a tantrum at his mamma.

Tantrums even at 13 are one of the most reasons I have to spank, when he can't have his way.

I agree with what the other mammas have said for reasons to spank. There is no grounding here, no counting to 10, no timeouts, If I need to punish I spank and I spank long and hard to get my boy back. One warning, usually.

My son and nephew get one extra warning on special holidays and birthdays where I would normally have spanked, but that isn’t always enough to stop them from being spanked.
