I have been having this discussion in earlier threads on how often I've had to spank this summer, and Laura aptly named it the 'Summer of Spankings.'

I have always found the summer months the need for more spankings. When my children were growing up, they always needed more spankings during the summer months and even now, as I've babysat during the summer for quite a few years now, my spankings increase due to my charges.

But I have found this summer the need to spank more frequently even more so. As you mentioned, Andy has needed 4 spankings this summer and Derek has had 2 of them. Although I think that is mainly because I don't see him every day.

But Julian (5 yrs old) keeps my lap quite busy. I have had to consistently spank him a couple of times a week. I didn't during our vacation (as his mother was with us and she took care of his spankings) and this past week it was the first time I only had to spank him once. Chloe (10 yrs old) has also consistently gone over my lap about once a week, as well.

Ivana, I have always heard the "But, you are too strict", as well. But you have the right mindset. In that the children need to improve their behavior than blame Mommy (or others) otherwise they will continue to have a shiny, apple red bottom and thighs. I told the same to my children, and the children currently under my care, when they have told me "You are too strict!"

I know I have been more strict than a lot of moms, but I also know I am as strict to what I know is needed and what I feel is best for them, however much they may not like it.
