Spanking in a rocking chair could never happen here. I spank either sitting on our sofa, or his bed but the most of his spankings happen with me sitting on his bed.

The way I have my son over the lap, it presents the bottom perfectly to me. I get him forward, his nose and toes just off the floor. The good news for me is that the higher the bottom is a splendido sight for this mamma seeing her boy in this position feeling his body over my lap his bottom on display for me. I take my time in positioning him just so.
