Cecilia,

Our dining room chairs are high-backed wooden chairs. I am tall for a woman, so I am able to sit in them comfortably (feet square to the floor, lap is level) and have administered many spankings while sitting in one of them over the years. Pulling it away from the dining room table and setting it in the more open area of the living room. But it's usually been done only with the younger children. When the kids have gotten to be older (and bigger), like Mary and Cherie, I have sat on the couch and used it for the additional support.

I have never sat in a rocking chair for a spanking. I actually would find that a bit impractical to administer a spanking. The children always kick and squirm frantically and desperately on my lap. And I could easily see all the movement causing the chair 'to rock', however much I would try to keep it from doing so in having my feet planted to the floor.

Although I have used my rocking chair on plenty of occasions 'after' a spanking (and corner time) to comfort and console a crying child. Sitting them on my lap and the rocking of the chair being an excellent addition to help soothe them. :)
