This has been interesting to read the different ways.

I think to be a successful spanking, they need to be scolded, talked to before the baring, making sure they understand what got us to this point. Then comes the baring and that is useful once modesty hits and they have to stand at my knees as I bare them very embarrassing and a useful part of a bare bottom spanking as they get older it was is even for my youngest at 11.

Then I lower their pants to the knees, shorts, pj bottoms fall to around their ankles, while their briefs are inside out and upside down from when I pulled them down by the waist band to around their knees. Then with saying nothing as they know what is coming, its a move to the side of my right thigh and I help them over my lap and adjust them.
