It was more a case of up and down and kicked off here.

I whisked Jack's pyjama trousers down at the end of the lecture if I was going to spank him (he didn't wear anything underneath them), and once the hairbrush started to really sting he would kick his legs and the trousers would come off.

I did not make him put them back on after the spanking and he was happy to cry and cuddle with me without them even at 12. When he was ready to go to bed I would go second holding his trousers and he would go first holding his red bottom with both hands.

He would go to bed still bare bottomed - I would give him a clean top if he had rubbed too much snot on the old one - and when I went back to check on him I would usually find him asleep with the covers thrown back. I would kiss him and replace them very gently.
