Oh yes, I absolutely remember administering Andy's first spanking. He was 8 yrs old and it was for giving me trouble in regards to bedtime as well as for throwing a tantrum. He was close to receiving a spanking already for continued arguing in having to go to bed, but when he threw a temper tantrum that sealed his fate. Tantrums have always been an immediate spanking in this home. If they want to cry and scream about something, then they will do it over my knee.

It was the "most awful/horrible/didn't think I would ever stop/hardest spanking ever." As well as "Way worse than Mommy's spankings." All his own words after I spanked him that first time. So yes, to answer your questions on if it was a shock for him and was it far worse than Diane's spankings. :) What he was also worried about is his classmates finding out. Being babysat, and especially being spanked by the teacher. But I assured him that me babysitting him, and especially his spanking, is just between us.

Diane has made a lot of improvements on how she has spanked over the years, but my spankings are still quite a bit more sound and more thorough, and I am also more strict (including quicker to spank) with Andy, as well. Andy still also makes abundantly clear that he hates this Mommy's spankings way more, that I spank much longer and harder than he receives at home.

Unfortunately for him (or I actually I feel fortunately for him), combined with how often Diane has to travel (and therefore how often he stays with me) and with how much more strict I am with him, it ends up working out that I spank him more frequently here than he receives at home. Diane knows this too as it's actually been like this for quite awhile now, but she is fine with it as she knows how beneficial it is has been for him.

Cherie, I was more referring sharing about some of Jason's spankings from time to time with a relevant thread topic. But ok, I will give you one here. :)

Jason was actually relatively up there in age already when I made the change in starting with my hand. It was back around the beginning of 2009, which he was 16 at the time. I do remember though I was having issues with him at that age with additional attitude and sass, and therefore he was earning more spankings at the time.

As I have mentioned before, I had a number of friends recommending to me I really should start my spankings off with a good hand spanking first. Not get rid of the hairbrush, but that there is nothing more natural and loving than a sound hand spanking from their mother to start it off. So I finally took their suggestion and did so.

Where I wasn't necessarily looking for changes, I've always been open to listening to suggestions from fellow spanking mom friends to improve my spankings, make them more effective. And I am really glad I did as adding my hand has only been beneficial. And that the children hated (being hand spanked) was just another factor letting me know I made the right decision.

The one thing I knew is if I was going to add my hand to start my spankings, it needed to be just as an unpleasant part of the spanking for the child. Not something to 'warm them up' and 'prepare' them for the brush. No, it needed to really HURT. When I hand spanked my children at a very young age, before starting with the wooden spoon, I spanked them rapidly and quite hard (for their age). And they wailed like no tomorrow. So I knew if I was going to add my hand here, that is how I would hand spank. And it is how I have always hand spanked, doing so rapid fire and very hard.

And I can tell you, when I first started doing so with Jason at 16 yrs old, the hand spanking was quite the shock for him! It did not take long at all for him to go through that "spanking time machine" while I hand spanked him rapidly and HARD over my lap. He became my little boy again, and I knew I made the right choice. Never mind the fact, I certainly was appreciating smacking my own hand to his still cute bare bottom and thighs repeatedly. :) The only regret I had was I didn't start doing this again sooner.
