I would be happy to re-post what Andy and Derek said here:

"As I expected, both boys argued the next morning during breakfast whose bottom looked worse (after already arguing extensively downstairs when waking up). When my daughter asked them if they wanted judges to make the final, expert decision, they both looked at her blankly. And then when they finally realized what she was getting at, they both responded with a resounding "NO WAY!" The rest of us laughed."

And this is by no means a first time situation. Not only with Derek and Andy, but with my other children, as well. I caught my daughter Kahlan looking in her mirrored closet door almost every time after I spanked her. And when I spanked both her and a friend of hers, where they didn't really argue with one another, they did compare notes on how 'bad' it looked. And I heard her friends mention more than once "this is way worse than my mom's spankings at home."

It has been with the boys, like with my son Jason and his friends, my nephews, or now with Andy and Derek, where they will proudly show off how 'bad' their bottom is to each other, like showing off battle scars. Or like already mentioned, trying to argue whose is worse.

But of course, they only want to show or talk about it private. Like with your boys, I have gotten the "Mooom!" when I've walked by or made comments. Similar to you, I will tell them "Well, you should have shut the door, then." But, I am glad they almost always forget to do so. :)
