Oh yes, I know, believe me. They just find ways to get away when least expected. We can only do our best. Sometimes they are more determined than we are!

But that's why we need to give them an especially sound spanking and hope it miraculously sticks. AJ gave a loud, long, apologetic wail "I sooo sowwwy Graaammmaa!! Won't evverr aggaain!!!" I assured him it was ok now, and that Grandma believes him, but of course he soon forgot afterwards. He didn't run away in the parking lot, but almost did so in a store a couple of days later, but I grabbed a hold of him before he could run off (and gave him some swats).

They mean it at the time on their promise, but we know better. :)
