Your meaning of a ‘reminder spanking’ and what I think of when I hear that are two different things.
First, I know we are all different but since you asked let me say how that would have been handled here, first there would not have been 3 warnings, with me I would give have given 1 warning right away and in most cases some hard warning swats with a spanking warning, then if things progressed and my warning wasn’t heeded I spank.
Follow up spankings here are for something serious, but not a bedtime incident.
When I have heard others speak of ‘reminder spankings’ it has been on the same lines as a maintenance spanking with no spanking offense committed just as a reminder or a maintenance.
My views on these are as always, I think “reminder/maintenance” spankings and wrong. I spank only when needed, spanking for no reason or when the child has done nothing to earn a spanking is wrong in my book. It sends a bad confusing message to the child/ren.
