as Mary wrote, clenching is a normal reaction, like kicking, squirming and bucking, crying and snot and tears. But if they clench, spanking them with a brush or spoon can cause bruising. My kids react the same way. That's how it has to be when you give them a good spanking, and that's how it has to be if a spanking is to be effective. Anything else makes no sense. But why do you write that Lucas gets some workout while being spanked. Your son's name is Derrick, isn't it?
