Curfew violation was probably the leading cause for my girls at that age, if not sass/backtalk. And at 17, their spankings were really winding down for them or even stopped, as well. With Jennifer (oldest), she received her last spanking at around 17 1/2. With Laura (youngest), she was actually maybe a couple months younger. Although for her, technically spanking is still an option being in college. However, as it's been about 4 years since her last spanking, I would be surprised if she needed another one.
With your boys, we both of course know you probably have awhile yet in regards to having to give them frequent spankings, especially with your youngest. At least that was the experience with my son. His spankings really started to lessen a bit after 15, but then at 16 they jumped up again for him. That lasted for about a year. I think he had a wake-up call that he was almost 17 yrs old and Mom(my) was needing to spank him relatively often at his age, so he buckled down. He still needed spankings after that, but they became much less often.
