I have found that as my two got older (they are 12 and 9),the embarrassment factor helped to keep the spanking effective. I didn't want to spank harder, but needed to ensure that the punishment was memorable. A bare bottom spanking over my knee, just like they got when they were younger, does exactly that.

At their ages, I only spank in private. To me, a spanking from mom is embarrassing, but getting it in front of others crosses over into humiliation. Does anyone else see it that way?
