Mother's Day is very hard for me the relationship between my mother and I have spent strained for the last several years. I have been working on rebuilding it but it's not there yet. Honestly I feel a little sad sometimes about it especially on Mother's Day.
This Mother's Day was terrific my friend and her daughter came over from next door and we had breakfast. The kids made us breakfast add no one got hurt LOL. It was just a lot of laughing and a lot of fun at a time to just enjoy everyone. We went for a bicycle ride and this is the first time I've been on my bike this year and it was just wonderful. I will admit I must be a little out of shape trying to keep up with the kids. Too embarrassed to ask them to wait. We were on the waterfront and my daughter and her friend were standing looking out at the River and I was behind them trying to catch my breath. And I realized how wonderful it was that for everything I've been through and all the things that have happened. That everything was good and the most important person in the world was standing there in front of me. I told her I love her to the moon and back. And it was just a really great day.
I think it's important that we find the time to do those little things for ourselves. Time to do something nice for ourselves.
It's not about cards or Flowers or presents although Anna and I sent all three to my mother her grandmother. It's about the little things and realizing it's our special day.
As far as spankings go if I have to do it I will. This is something that doesn't get a holiday here. I do give my daughter warnings sometimes it's a look, sometimes it's a verbal warning. But I don't like to give more than one warning. If the one warning doesn't work Zen the hair brush comes out.
I hope everybody has a great day and takes the time to do something nice for themselves.
