 Our middle girl Sara earned herself a trip over my lap and well reddened bottom yesterday afternoon.

I had baked a batch of Rocky Roads which I promised we would all feast on after dinner. I left them cooling in the kitchen which I know was a temptation and alas sweet tooth Sara was tempted.

Her big sister Catherine caught her in the act and I heard the shouts from the kitchen ‘Mum, mum Sara is stealing a traybake.’ A guilty looking Sara didn’t even attempt to deny it.

I sent her upstairs to my room and gave her a good scolding about self control. Then she was bared and over my knee for a good firm handspanking which soon enough had the tears flowing followed by the howling and pleading. Once we got to that stage I picked up the family spanking ruler and really drove home the lesson which took the howling to a new pitch.

Sara sat uncomfortably at dinner. And of course didn’t get any Rocky Roads.
