Sarah,

Thank you for your words of understanding. I shouldn’t feel bad when I am unable to post for a while, but I do. I love this group so much and want to be a consistent participant. There are a lot of new messages that I need to get caught up on, and some of them are from you.

One of the reasons Tara set up some alone time with me recently was because she had teased and hurt the feelings of a boy. Even though Tara is only fourteen, she is just one of those girls that all the boys want, and a few weeks back one boy expressed to her his feeling about her. Even though she had no intentions of having anything beyond a friendship with the boy, she led him on and got his emotions all worked up. A few days later, she ended the teasing and the boy was deeply hurt. He felt betrayed. Tara ended up feeling terribly guilty about what she’d done and couldn’t get the shameful feelings out of her system. She didn’t want to tell her mom about what she’d done, so she asked if I could help. We set up a time when my kids would be gone with their dad for a few hours. Our meeting ended up going extremely well. Tara left the house feeling greatly relieved but with a very, very sore and stinging bottom. It fantastic how a trip over a maternal knee can cleanse a child’s soul. Unfortunately, for the child, it is horribly painful during the soul cleansing, but once it is over and all the crying and screaming has abated, he or she can move on with renewed freshness.

I did have to wash the backside of my hairbrush after that spanking.
