 Thanks to all of you for your great, candid comments thus far. I used to think there was something "wrong" with me, but thanks to the AMAZING Internet, not only did I discover there is nothing wrong with me, but that we ALL have certain proclivities in life and that we should never be ashamed of who we are.

As Mary so astutely pointed out, she has never caused a spanking but when a spanking has been well earned, why must she find administering it to be such an unpleasant task? I have TOTAL respect for her position on this.

Mary's comments also kind of remind me of a line from the old Chevy Chase movie, Fletch Lives, the 2nd "Fletch" movie. A California native, he travels to Louisiana to view property he has inherited. It's a comedy but he encounters some illegal "shenanigans" going on behind the scenes and is suspicious of this adorable young woman named "Becky," played by Julianne Phillips, being involved. When he later discovers she is not involved in the criminal activity he makes the comment, "Turns out Becky was a good girl and wouldn't have to be spanked after all. Dammit."

As a teenager around 17 and older, whenever I met a new potential girlfriend, one of the first things I wanted to know about her, was when her birthday was...in hopes of being able to give her the "traditional birthday spanking." That was enough reason for even, at least, a playful spanking.
