All I do before I spank is give a little talking to, I do nothing with my hair, by the time we get to where I am about to spank and the guilty party is standing at my knees they are not talking their way out and I know I am going to spank. I just remind them why/how we got to this point and what they should have done or said differently.

The oldest boy covers his front while the 11 yo and daughter keeps their hands at their side as they feel the air on their bottom. If they are in their pjs or shorts I follow the same procedure. The element of embarrassment is hugely important to an effective spanking, and for a teenage boy or girl to be standing there before his mother bare from the waist to the knees the experience becomes truly embarrassing.

Then a move to the side of my right thigh and I help them over my lap and adjust them.
