Subject: The rule is to have three firsts, in place for about 13 years. However, a TC can (and will) move a dancer to OC, without fully having the 3. Frequently it is done fo ran older dancer around the time of the NANS entries are due to allow dancer to dance NANS (if didn't make qualifying at O's)
In reply to: frustrated 's message, "Is the entire region in agreement that dancers need 3 PC firsts to make OC?" on 13:26:13 05/02/18 Wed

If it doesn't directly concern you, is to let t go. It may not seem fair on the surface; but the reality is that in most cases, the dancer is far from ready to compete at the Open level and will most likely not place or do well.

Our experience is when dancers are moved too soon or long after getting firsts, they get into the next level not really ready. Fail miserably and quit because they are so discouraged by their results. There are the exceptions, mind you, but they are few and far between.

Moving up is a double edged sword - while it seems wonderful at the time to move up, in the end, it really isn't.
