In reply to: Unfortunate 's message, "NAFC/regions should really make adult rules more clear/consistent, especially now that so many more older dancers are competing. The 5 year rule is understood to extend to all adult comps. Not in the spirit of adult comps to go from senior ladies at the O to adults" on 11:59:15 02/04/18 Sun

And what exactly is the “spirit of adult comps”? You have senior ladies in their late 20’s to mid 30’s who are still dancing. If they want to drop down to give their bodies a break or because doing dance at that level with adult responsibilities is getting to be too much then I think that is in the “spirit” of the adult competitions. I would rather them compete in adults and keep dancing and competing and having fun then quit the sport we all love for 5 years. The 5 year rule is worse then the 6 month ban rule! At least they can keep dancig! Why are we trying to push other Irish dance loving adults out of the sport just because they aged out of the “&overs”? They are meant to be fun competitions for adults who love to dance but have no interest in taking it to worlds. I think any dancer who is 25+ and in senior ladies who wants to shift to adults should be allowed to.
