Subject: The senior dancers referenced by the OP are those competing in the Oireachtas. I doubt many of these are "non-placing" dancers. The 5 year ban is meant to level the playing field, so you don't have people competing against each other who could be 20 years apart in age and dance experience.

  • Because an adult-aged dancer in preliminary or open can also move down to prizewinner &over if they are not placing, just like any other age group. Why should they get their pick of two different categories to move to? -- more inside, 12:25:16 02/08/18 Thu
