Author: Why?
Subject: Who is the odd region, us or ECR?

It seems strange that in our region, we don't split comps which are routinely 30-50 when we require 3 firsts in prelim to move up. In Canada, they split champs at 25 and grades at 15(!).

I have always understood that we require 3 firsts to move to OC because we have more feises, etc. But is it just me or does it seem a little bit different to make open by winning 2 comps of 14 dancers than winning 3 comps of 40+?

This is not a sour grapes post but just legitimately wondering why the disparity? Does anyone know for certain, without hypothesizing, why this makes any sense?
