Author: Marking system
Subject: Does anyone else wonder why the point system hasn’t been thrown out?

How can a dancer get one wonky first with 2 lower scores and place over someone who has more equal scores. Why is a first worth 25 more marks than a 2nd place - it really skews the results!!! The solid dancer gets overtaken in the results by a wonky high mark from 1 judge.

And lately when I look at results there seems to be one judge who marks completely the opposite as the other two and sways the results! Usually they mark all the dancers from a certain school very high and the top dancers very low to get who they want to place high and bring who they are afraid of placing high lower.

Most of us can very clearly pick out a very rough open champ who should be last and the top 5 dancers. You can very easily see the difference.

Has anyone examined what the results would be like if the Irish points were instead 100 99 98 etc.
