There was nothing mean in what was posted, either. Just simple, frank observations.

The impression that was given is that the boys' activities are superior than what the girls do, because they put down a solo fifth placement versus a boys' soccer team placement. That's really stereotyping along with gender-bashing. And like the above, would think the poster really doesn't intend for that, right?

Sadly, it is the subtle messages that we send to our children that continue to promote gender stereotyping and the continuation that "boys are better" -

Would have thought people have gotten beyond that and would acknowledge all achievements, and not tolerate siblings to put down other siblings (especially along gender lines).

To answer the OP's original question, do not cheapen awards. The entry fees are fine as they are.
