When my dancer was in prelim we made a long weekend of it and had a mini family vacation, so in that sense it was great. The lack of stage schedules, which is common outside NE, came as a shock to me at the time. I did not estimate stages correctly and we waited...and waited...and waited. And then, the separate set competition was at the same time as awards, so awards had to be delayed, kids were rushing a long way to get to awards on time, etc.

That said, here are the positives: it really was nice for our family to wrap a trip in with a feis that time of year. The awards were nice and they had a treble jig comp for top three placers in all champ comps. The venue was large and clean and in a nice area for other members of the family to explore.

Bottom line, I'm glad we did it once because of the memories of the trip. We won't be back though.
