Author: people are not feising, period
Subject: This region actually used to have more and they were all well-attended, every weekend and summer time, too. In the last five years + many have gone away. Only a couple, if that, that replaced them.

And using all sorts of excuses as well.

Gone are the days of fun watching friends.
Gone are the days of being with family.
Gone are the days of going stage to stage to find comps.
Gone are the days of picnic lunches.
Gone are the days of learning how to be patient waiting for placements, results.
Gone are the days of learning how to be a "good sport" missing a comp for various reasons (arrived too late, had to leave, or whoops, watching someone else).
Gone are the days of the surprise of what the schedule was when you arrived.
Gone are the days when you found out what you were dancing in champs when you arrived.
Gone are the days -

Guess what - it was just as expensive, if not more several years ago, especially with the economy back then.

Feising took just as much time, if not more several years ago (can remember leaving many feiseanna after 9:30 at night and having four hours to drive home, and it was Sunday).

People demand and expect everything today and if a feis doesn't deliver for whatever reason, then it's awful, horrible, and is blasted across social media.

Unfortunately, we are going to start losing feiseanna because they aren't cheap to run and need entries to even break even. 1/2 the number of entries of what was once there will not cover the costs.
