Author: overall. Dropping high/low won't
Subject: Needs to be rotating. A set panel literally hands away the placements. And favors. BTW, one "odd" 100 might be coming from the judge judging the day, too, don't overlook that; the other four could be friends and going along. Remember, there are long lunch breaks. Rotating reduces the impact
In reply to: Tired of the "subjectiveness" 's message, "That's one reason the high/low need to be dropped." on 11:15:08 11/26/18 Mon

Here's a fictitious scenario:

Judge A - friends with dancer TC, gives dancer 100(making sure raw scores add up)
Judge B - Friends with Judge A, follows and gives another 100 (not sure of who is who dancing goes by Judge A)
Judge C - own person, not influenced by others - ranks dancer 6th, has another dancer first (dancer B).
Judge D - had drinks with dancer A's teacher, so feels obligated to give 100
Judge E - also friends with Judge A, goes by what Judge A says.

So, even if high and low were dropped in this case, it really wouldn't affect the out come, favors still play.

However, if the panels rotated, then that would definitely change things; especially if the panels are drawn, publicly at the start of the day, along with the rotation. The Great Britains do this and it's considered one of the most fair championship. The placements are really on the day. The best dancers rise to the top in each round.

Would be a great innovation here.
