Subject: So when a feis moves a comp up significantly and with little notice, when are dancers supposed to prep?
In reply to: : 's message, "How early before your anticipated dance time do you arrive at a feis?" on 07:26:36 08/07/17 Mon

I get that all feis schedules are subject to change, but if you look at what is posted next to the stage at 11am and it's what was on the schedule (after lunch) and then all of a sudden at 11:30, it's changed and you're up, that doesn't seem fair. Should everyone just arrive at the opening of every feis with wig and makeup done and dress out just waiting to attach the cape? There were many unhappy and unprepared dancers this weekend when a big comp was moved up. Luckily my dancer was near the end of the lineup so she had a little more time but the ones in the beginning were literally running to the stage just as they were about to go on. Another mom remarked that the same sort of thing happened last year with the same group. Change the schedule if you need to but if you start the day that way, don't change it and hope that everyone is standing around staring at the piece of cardboard next to the stage.
