Subject: Some new years eve thoughts ...

sitting at home with the very pregnant misses leaves me plenty of time to add some thoughts to the various discussions on the board ... here goes:
1) God knows I am not the biggest Austin fan but I think he should continue to start. One thing not discussed, when he is in there, the other teams need to account for him at all times, no one is going to leave him open, which helps clear up the middle for drives and inside passes and cuts down on doubling down.
2) I love what I am seeing with this team, biggest problem last year was that they all looked to dwayne to carry them every game, this team has a bunch of guys looking to step up every game plus a go to player in Prosper.
3) Speaking of Prosper, I dont think he is getting the credit he deserves, the guy has increased his scoring by 6 pts per game, his rebounding by 4 and his assists by 2, all that while being the player every team plans their defense around.
4) How about the job the Saints did on MSU's Conway last night, allowing 7 points (5 of which came right in a row in the first half) and Erickson who scored 8.
5) Interested to see Haddix vs Gomes this Saturday, both are listed as 6'7" power forwards, should be a great matchup.
6) re: Justin Miller, fault his play and stats all you want, but the kid always plays hard!!! He will recover to have a good season.
7) not one to toot my own horn, but I believe I mentioned several times over the summer that I thought Tommy Mitchell would be a much improved shooter this year. He has a nice looking shot, he just needed to slow down a little bit and gain some confidence. Must of watched some Matt Brady films ...:)
8) I certainly hope that Jamal Jackson develops into the point guard the Saints need, but he just doesnt seem to make good decisions, certainly the foul with no time on the clock at half time last night is an excellent example of this. I dont recall hearing his name in the 2nd half last night, do you think that foul had anything to do with it?
9) Sat is Megaphone giveaway night, how annoying do you think they'll be?
10) As much as I hate to agree with Saintly, Thursday looks to be a rough night for the MAAC, 1-5 looks very possible right now.
11) Time to go, Happy New years to all (even the Iona fans:))!!!!!!
